Brief: The Boat Building Academy (BBA) approached us at Monster Creative to design and build them a new custom WordPress website to replace their outdated websites. The client wanted to combine two websites, BBA and the Furniture School, into a single resource that would allow their users to book courses online, browse projects, and learn about past students and their accomplishments.
Solution: We came up with a plan to seamlessly integrate both websites with a focus on usability. We prioritized ease of navigation and promotion of courses, tutors, and case studies while making it as simple as possible for the client to update the site. The site now features clear calls to action throughout the site and a custom WooCommerce shop experience to help new and old customers enquire about flagship courses and enroll on short courses online.
Role: I was involved from the very start of the project, meeting with the client and discussing their needs for the new website. My role was to plan out the website from the initial sitemaps, wireframes, and UI designs for the entire site, taking into account client feedback and requirements. Upon design approval, I made sure that the developer handoff was clear and well-documented, along with user testing prior to client preview.
